Greetings and Welcome!

The Piano Studio of Rebecca M. Calissi, located in South Windsor, Connecticut, offers private piano lessons for students of all ages and levels. Students receive a thoughtful, individualized approach which encourages and motivates them to enjoy the music-making process, and to express and share their love of music with others.  The studio aims to provide a structured and well-rounded musical education, to develop students' abilities to their full potential, and to create a life-long appreciation of music.

Students of the Calissi Piano Studio participate in two studio recitals per year.  Because the studio is affiliated with the Hartford Music Teachers Alliance, Mrs. Calissi’s students also have the opportunity to participate in piano festivals and recitals such as Winter Celebration Festival, Rising Pianists Competition, and Virtuoso Pianists Competition. Students also have the opportunity to participate in The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program.

Under her mentorship and guidance, Mrs. Calissi's students have become successful young performers in their own right, performing as the student accompanist for their school chorus, orchestra, concert band and jazz band, and as soloists at the Connecticut Governor's Residence and Carnegie Hall.

Rebecca McNair Calissi received her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from Huntingdon College and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studying with Ronald Shinn and Paul Stewart, respectively. She has accompanied vocalists, instrumentalists and ensembles throughout the Southeast and New England regions and premiered new works such as Ken Davies's Sapphire Kaleidoscope and Anthony Cornicello’s A Coney Island of the Mind. In the 2010 - 2012 seasons, Rebecca performed with Hartford Opera Theater and premiered new operas such as Philip Martin's Fall Back and The Family Plan as well as Avery Griffin's A Game of Chess. In addition to her private piano studio, Rebecca is the accompanist for several South Windsor elementary school choruses, is an Instructor of Music at Eastern Connecticut State University and serves as Music Director at Flagg Road United Church of Christ in West Hartford.  Along with her husband, Jeff Calissi, she performs in the marimba and piano chamber group Una Duo.
